Our Story

Ame means “Us”

We chose this name because it reflects a deep belief at the heart of our brand: that we are all connected - through breath, movement, the earth, and each other. Ame celebrates the collective spirit behind yoga. Although yoga is a deeply personal journey, it also teaches us how to live in the world, with respect, tolerance and compassion for one another. It builds community and strengthens our ties to nature and to each other.

Ame is a small business created by Becky Patel, a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher and textile designer, teaching and designing in Los Angeles, CA.

We design with intention, honoring the traditions that inspire us because we care deeply about making good products, supporting local businesses, and being as earth friendly as we can with our choices. All our clothing is made here in Los Angeles, even the fabric and the label inside the garment is produced here!

Whether you're on the mat or out in the world, wearing Ame is a reminder that your choices—how you move, what you wear, and how you care for the planet—are part of something bigger.
